Stealth powder day

You would never know living in the valley that it would be a good ski day. The mountains got maybe 6 inches yesterday and last night. This AM was very nice. Few people at the mountain and plenty of fresh snow until I left at 11:30 to go to work. Nice woods skiing today which we have not had much of this year.

End of January

Skiing isn't fantastic but it isn't bad either. Temperatures just below freezing in the mountains and warmer in town. Had a few nice mornings at Stowe before work and some Bolton back country. All pretty good.

First a walk at Shelburne Farms:

3 days skiing

Always good when you can get out skiing three days in a row. All kinds of weather from cloudy to snow to bright sun.
Sat was Catamount Family Center. This is low altitude. The snow was good but there wasn't a lot of it and thin base. Nice tour around the trails and close to the house.
Sun was Camels Hump SKi Association. They had plenty of snow. We went from the groomed trails up to Lions Ridge and worked our way down through the woods. Nice snow with good base. It was lightly snowing and then snowing harder off and on all day. No wind! Since the forecast called for wind it was nice to have calm and it was even calm on Lions Ridge which doesn't happen often.
Mon was Bolton. Very nice sunny blue sky day with nice powder snow and a decent base. Skied Heavenly Highway, Stowe View, Paradise Pass, White Rabbit, Big Blue, A1A, Not a trail. All very nice. A longer day and cold so I kept moving. Maybe 0 in the AM going up to about 10.
