Skating Colchester Pond

The up side of the recent rain storms is good skating on local ponds. This was a nice day with light wind and some nice smooth ice.

End of Dec

The skiing was great from mid Nov to mid Dec. We had rain the last two Fridays. After the first Friday Stowe was still OK with decent snow and no ice on the groomers. Didn't want to venture off the groomers though. Bolton was nice up high but it was ugly getting up there and coming down near the bottom. Some nice powder in the usual places around the Stowe View area.

I have not been out since last Friday's rain. The word is that skating is good so I will try that tomorrow. We probably need 6-12 inches of snow to get out skiing again.
