Last of the ice

Walk in Shelburne. The ice is mostly off the lake and the LaPlatte river has open lanes of water on it.

Even more skiing

Still plenty of snow. Some days that were half winter and half Spring this week. Transitioning to Spring but we are still getting small snow storms in the mountains and the winter conditions can be very good also. A mix of the usual places below (Bolton, Stowe).

2 feet

They say they got about 2 feet of snow in the mountains. Seems about right. The ski center had snow over the windows and doorways needed to be dug out. Skiing was great but slow going in places trying to get through all the snow. At one point I was at the top of prayer flags and was pretty excited to be the first one down the trail. Once I got going I realized that I didn't need to turn for the top third of the trail because there was so much snow. There is probably 4-5 feet of base under the new snow so trail markers are at ski boot height or buried. Branches are a problem because you are skiing 6 feet up in the trees. It started out cloudy and still snowing but then rapidly changed into a blue sky sunny day.
