Cotton Valley Rail Trail - Wolfboro

This is a pretty nice rail trail from Wolfboro to Wakefield in New Hampshire.
It goes by lake Winnepesaukee for a while, near a river, and in the woods. Still a few rail stations and buildings and at the end in Wakefield a circular platter used to turn trains around.
Sometimes you ride on the tracks where they filled them in with gravel. Sometimes the trail goes next to the tracks. Well done trail. 24 miles round trip.

Great East Lake - Wakefield

This lake is half in New Hampshire and half in Maine. Good visibility and good size lake (3 miles by 1 mile?).
I paddled along the lake to a river that got smaller as I went along. Finally the water was pretty shallow and a tree blocked the river. The river looks like a good place for birds to nest.

Similar but different

Another week in NH. Hiking, kayaking, and some biking. More Castle in the Clouds but also went up Mt Israel which was something new. This area had a marked trail up the mountain and then I decided to go for a loop to get back. The loop trail was unmarked and not maintained. At one point there was about 2 feet of water on the trail due to a beaver pond. I managed to walk along the edge of the dam and stay reasonably dry. Slow going but different. Hard to find the trail in a number of places.

Biking around Lake Winnepesaukee: I doubt I spelled that right.
