End of March

Winter continues. No Spring skiing in March to speak of. Good snow in the mountains and with it staying cold it is not going anywhere.

Smugglers Notch - plenty of snow left

Avalanche Lake Ski

Good skiing continues. Temperatures have not gone above freezing in the mountains since the storm. On this day we went to Avalanche Lake in the Adirondacks. Nice day and comfortable temperatures. It is about 10 miles round trip. There are a few areas up higher where it can be tricky going down depending on conditions. We had fast snow so there were a few crashes. Avalanche Lake is a unique place with large cliffs on both sides.

Day 4

Day 4 skiing. This day brought me to Bolton and more powder skiing off back of Paradise Pass and White Rabbit. Very sunny today. The sun felt like March but the temperature was about 10. Thankfully less wind today so it was a nice blue sky winter day.

Big Storm

We got about 3 feet in the mountains over a 3 day period last week. I went to Smugglers Notch Thu and Fri. Thu was one of the better days of the year. Fri had great snow but very winter like with temps around 15 and a strong wind all day. Sat was skiing at CHSA. A very nice day up on Lions Ridge. Continued winter cold and wind.
