Pleasant Mountain

Pleasant Mountain via the Bald Peak trail. 5 miles RT. Dry even at this time of year. Views of Mt Washington and the surrounding lakes. Also some waterfalls and "eye of the needle" which is a notch with rock walls on either side and waterfalls coming down through it.

Standish Beach

Rich Memorial Beach Sebago Lake. This is the town beach for Standish. A nice white sand beach. I talked to a local who said the beach was created in a storm. Further down the beach is a narrow area of sand with the lake on one side and a large water filled area on the right full of stumps from trees that went underwater. The parking lot is near the water with a long ramp going down to the beach. Could bring kayaks here? There is a long list of rules but I didn't see anything about kayaks. June- Sept beach is open.

Kayak - 237 Trails

We noticed while hiking on the 237 trails that there is a number of canoes and kayaks that can be used by the general public. Bring your own paddles. Today we walked into Snake and Otter ponds with our paddles and took out a two person kayak on Otter Pond and then a canoe on Snake Pond. We saw two double person kayaks and three canoes on our travels today. Nice that they are there and perfect day for it today. The kayaks are in good shape while the canoes are rougher.

Long Mountain

Long Mountain is in Bethel ME about an hour from the house. Nice hike that follows a river for a little while with multiple small waterfalls. Then there is a loop trail that goes to the top of the mountain. Nice views into NH and trail is in great shape. Dry and half in a pine forest.
