Scarborough Beach State Park

This was our first time to Scarborough Beach State Park. A large beach and lots of open area at near low tide. It was a nice day visually but windy and cold so it made it harder to appreciate it. There is a frozen fresh water pond near the entrance that has nice ice for skating.

Skiing 237 Trails

Nice 6 inches of snow that made skiing good again. Still snow, wind, and general storm conditions when we to went out.

Late December

The snow is leaving us for now. Warm temps, 45, for three days and rain. I did get to go x country skiing about six times already this year. Not bad for Dec in Southern Maine.

Skiing Fryeburg

Back to Starks Hill. It snowed another 2 inches the night before into today. Conditions are great. In typical New England fashion temps in the 40's and rain are predicted in a few days. Better get out there.

Skiing - X Country ME

Mt Washington Valley Ski Touring: parked at Power line Trailhead Whitaker Woods.

Starks Hill Fryeburg: parked behind D&L Automotive Services.

Both had good snow with a nice base and 3 inches of new snow on top. Starks Hill had better snow just because very few people go there. Mt Washington Valley Ski Touring has a number of walkers this time of year which does not help the conditions. Nice day at 25 degrees and sun off an on. Very windy though but the trails are mostly in the woods which reduced the wind a lot.
