It snowed a lot over the past five days. Somewhere in the 2-3 foot range. Went to the Mesa Lakes trailhead and out to Powderhorn. On the way back I went beyond the lake. This goes out to the hotel area and you could access the hiking trails we were on in October. Should head out that way next time.
Monument Canyon to Wedding Canyon loop. Today the high temp was 40 and we started at 30 degrees. Because of the bright sun it felt like 50+ and was very comfortable for hiking. It has been snowing hard in the mountains the last week but just a little rain and a little snow in the valley.
Snow at the house 2/20:
I went to Highline Lake SP after biking. I thought it was close to the bike trailhead. It really isn't. No different from driving from the house. Thinking ahead to road biking 18 road from the house to the bike trailhead would be a nice ride. Riding out to Highline SP would also be a nice ride. Little traffic and farm country. Very calm at the lake making for some nice reflections.
Mountain biking at 18 road today. Good day for it as it was cool and cloudy which made for comfortable riding. I went on a few trails I have been on before and tried two new ones. Joe's Ridge is great! Some riding that pushed me but not too much like Zippity. Ftontside is another good one which I went out and back and then connected with Joe's Ridge. There is still another area of trails on the other side of the road I have not been to.
