Then off to whale watching. It was early in the season so we went pretty far out toward the mouth of the bay. Just when we thought there would be no whale sightings we saw a hump back whale. It stayed fairly close in the area and we saw it from many different angles. Pictures don't do it justice as it popped up in different places and different sides of the boat. They eat 3-4 thousand pounds of fish a day! Very interesting to see and a big tour of the bay on the boat. We also saw a number of sea birds and a seal on the way back.

Kejimkujik NP NS
Today Bryan, Susie, Holly, and me went to Kejimkujik national park. Nice park with a large lake, river, and a number of hiking traiks. We kayaked on the river and then briefly went out onto the lake. Then a nice hike, Peter Point trail, that went through a Hemlock and Maple forest to a beach on the lake. Nice day and near perfect weather!

Digby Area
We are staying in Parkers Cove NS which is North of Digby on the ocean. Today we went to Delaps Cove which was just down the road. Nice hike with ocean views for a fair amount of it and a waterfall. It was very foggy though so ocean views were limited today.
Then to Port Royal National Historical Site. A French trading post active in 1700 until about 1730. Very well done restoration. Some of the windows were sheep skin which they did back then. Knowledgeable people there and you could get a feel of what it was like in that day.
