Skiing at Stowe with Keith. From the bottom of the mountain it looked like a cloudy day and nothing too interesting. Once you got up to the top it was very interesting all day. Blue sky and a layer of changing clouds below. The clouds wrapped over the top of Mansfield and went down the other side. Where we were, on the quad side, it was sunny with vertical clouds blowing by to the South and North. The sun had a circular rainbow around it and a number of bright spots on the circle. Maybe a solar halo but different than I have seen in the past?
The snow was pretty good on the trails they had open. Little or no ice and pleasant skiing until I left around 2:30. We still need a number of small storms or one big storm to get everything, like the woods, open.
