Lyon Mountain, Point Au Roche SP

We started with a hike up Lyon Mountain. Nice switch back trail to a fire tower at the top. Unfortunately a smokey day from Canada wildfires so not much of a view.

Then Point Au Roche State Park. Saw a fawn and a bright green frog. Walked both sides of deep bay. The middle point side was mostly a cedar forest.

Jay Peak, Hazens Notch

Long Trail North up to Jay Peak. Short 3.5 miles RT. Very nice day. Cooler and less humid. Very comfortable and no rain which we have had plenty of lately.

After Jay we went to Hazens Notch and walked around some trails and meadows there. Rolf, who owns High Ponds Farm, was walking the trails so we talked to him some. He created the trails on the land he owns which is most of the trails including the ones going up Burnt mountain. He said he has been there since 1990 and has about 400 acres. This is a great place to visit in fall and winter.
