This is a rail trail going from Mont-Laurier to St Jerome. The trail would be a good model for the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. The trail has picnic tables, rest stops with benches and views, and bike stands with tools and air. There are also a number of B&B's and other accomodations along the route. Also train stations that are now info centers and rest stops. Today we went from Mont-Laurier to Nominingue. Today's route passed through a rural area with a number of lakes and rivers. Mostly shade on the trail through wooded areas. We stayed at Auberge Chez Ignace which is on Lac Nominingue. We went swimming right after riding. Cold water which quickly removed the heat of the day! An amazing dinner cooked by Cecile the owner and chef. Walleye, pork, salads, salmon, cheese cake, and flan were some of the things we had. Great French cooking.
Sat: Drive to St Jerome in spectacular traffic. I don't know what was going on to cause this. Maybe as simple as too many cars out this day. We did have a nice meal at a Lebanese restaurant.
Sun: Took a bus with bikes to Mont-Laurier which would be the start of our ride back to St Jerome over multiple days. 200 km of trail total.
