Maine - Mt Blue State Park

We went from Portland North to the Mt Blue State Park area. Went hiking at Tumbledown mountain on Sat and spent Sunday AM at Webb Lake. The camp ground we stayed at was right on Webb Lake and they had canoes and kayaks for rent. Nice lake with clean water and a good beach area at the camp ground.
Mt Tumbledown was an interesting hike. It is a 3K foot mountain +/- but has a lot of exposed rock and rock jumbles. We did the loop trail up and the Brook trail down. The loop trail is steep and has a lot of rock and views of nearby cliffs. At one point the trail goes through Fat Mans Misery which is a small cave created by rock jumble that goes up. The mountain also has a small lake about 200 vertical feet down from the summit. The lake was hidden by clouds when we got there and then slowly revealed itself as the fog/clouds cleared.
On the way back to Portland we stopped in at Fort Williams Park. Right on the ocean and something to check out again some day.
We got very lucky with the weather. It was cloudy but no rain Sat. We just got finished eating dinner on Sat, which was cooked on a fire, and the rain started. It rained most of the night and then was sunny and cleared fast on Sunday.

Colors

I like winter but one thing it doesn't have is color. Shelburne Farms gardens are in peak condition now.

Biking - Canada

Started at Highgate school and went up into Canada farm country. 60 mile ride with GMBC. Stopped at a cafe for coffee and bakery treats in a small town about half way through the ride. Nice cool day with highs in the mid 70's. Not much time for pictures on these rides.
