Two more hikes

Work gave us Fri and Mon off so a nice 4 day weekend. This post is the last 2 days. The first two were mountain biking and road biking.

Sun was Smugglers Notch ski area to Sterling Pond, LT North toward Whiteface but not all the way there, to view point at top of elephant head, back to Sterling pond and down.

Mon was Harringtons view at Bolton. Nice day in the woods and not a popular route so few people.

A few more Lake Arrowhead pictures in the AM and the generation station on the ride over:

Now we are to the actual hike:

Bolton hike. Got me thinking about back country skiing since that is how I usually see these trails:

Biking - Buck Hollow Road Fairfax

It was the best of rides, it was the worst of rides.

Heavy rain and clouds, bright sun and blue sky.

Cold waiting out a storm, warm up hill stretches.

Strip malls with a DMV location, Acres of farms and red barns.

High speed traffic on 7 and 36, long stretches of no cars.

Loud hummers and pickups passing too close, long stretches of back roads and bird sounds.
