Brewster river trails - great wrong turns

Biking at the Brewster river trails. We started on the Pond loop trail and then went up Junction Hill trail going by Loggers Loop. We wanted to stay on the Brewster trails but made a wrong turn. Junction Hill trail goes to Sterling Ridge Resort. A great wrong turn as we got to check out the resort and their trails. They have a small trail network there that goes around a pond. We rode these trails in what is a very nice area. Holly went into the main building and found out they are open year round and have a number of cabins and lodges on the property.

We then rode on West Farm road which brought us to the mountain bike trails and the end of the Brewster River trail. We checked out the mountain bike trails which are short but nice and then headed onto the Brewster river trail. This is a good one and we went the right direction as it would be a lot of uphill the other way. This goes by the gorge and the waterfalls that I had walked to in the past. Nice bike ride!

Still more to check out in this area. Nice mix of woods trails and dirt roads.

July 4 hike

With Holly, Erica, Oyster. Sterling Pond and Madonna loop. Perfect hiking temperature but pretty foggy so no distance views. 8 miles for the humans and 12-16 for Oyster who ran back and forth many times during the hike all the time wondering why the humans were so slow.

Erica took half of the pictures.

Great Horned Owl

Walking at Shelburne Farms and ran into Craig who had a Great Horned Owl out in the farm barn. Very cool to see these birds so close up.
