Let there be light

Sunset is at 7:00 PM now. To celebrate I went to Bolton and skied for 3 hours after work. Snow is still good as it was over the weekend and more on the way. Untracked powder in the woods near Paradise Pass.

Two days at Sterling ridge

Skiing is great again! Two days of powder skiing at Sterling Ridge. Sat the snow was a little faster but basically great both days. It snowed maybe 4 inches sat night. Never got above freezing in the mountains so it should be good for a while.

Early March

We had about two weeks of no winter. Too warm with rain storms off and on. A lot of snow was lost. I was also uncharacteristically busy indoors so didn't get out much. We just got significant snow the last few days. I have time to get out this weekend so we shall see. In the mean time here are a few pictures from walking around the last few weeks.

Surprised at Bolton once again

The temperatures are too warm in the valley. I went up to Bolton because I heard they got some snow. It was great! They got 2-4 the night before and another 2-4 the night before that. Nice powder with good base and fast fun skiing. It was 32 degrees when I left at 1:00PM. Not sure if it will get too warm in the afternoon. Fresh tracks most of the time I was there. The parking lot was very crowded but not many people on the back country trails. Eagles Nest early then Paradise Pass and White Rabbit.

A little ice on the lake. Doesn't look like it will freeze this year.
