Back to summer virtually

Since it is November and there is nothing better to do I thought I would go back to summer 2014. Summer's go by very fast in VT and don't leave a lot of time for typing on computers, unless you are at work. A lot of the summer was spent sailing. Hard to take pictures racing since the focus is on sailing the boat and it is often pretty wet. Not camera friendly. This was a busy summer for sailing.

Every Thursday is racing J24's at MBBC which I have done for 15 years. Maybe more? J24's are 4-5 person one design boats. There are about 12 J24's at the boat club which makes for fun close racing. The Thursday races stop in the Fall and now it is just Sunday races up until Thanksgiving. I sail on Last Kid Picked with captain Alan.

Tuesday was Laser racing. A one person one design boat. I am new to this and learning slowly. A lot to learn. Had a number of fun nights racing lasers and two days cruising around in the bay in some wind which was fun. Something to try and get better at next summer.

There are also a number of weekend races throughout the summer. The Mayors Cup in Plattsburgh is always a fun weekend race. I made it to that one on a J24 with John and Jill. I made it on one over night race this summer on a Henderson 30. Fun race with plenty of wind. Fun to tour the lake. This race went up to the Champlain Islands and then down around Diamond island. It started and finished in Shelburne Bay.

Catamerans are fast and exciting. Things happen fast and you typically get wet. Sailed on a Hobie 18 a number of times in Charlotte and on a Hobie 16 in Mallets Bay.

The pictures below are from a number of years and different boats.
