First snow of the year for me was 11/1 going up Mad River (Stark mtn) from the appalachian gap. Went past the top of the single chair toward Mt Ellen. No snow at the gap but snowing lightly and some accumulation above the double chair which is at about 3000 feet.
The next day was a hike up Mt Abraham with Sue, Bruce, Carolyn, and Eric. Snow started pretty much from the parking area since it had snowed more over night. A good preview of winter. No views at the top but some on the way down. Temperatures in the 20's at the top.
It would have been good to have spikes but I am not ready to give up on summer... yet.
