Went to Moosehead lake on the way to Baxter State park in Maine.
Climbed big moose mtn the first night and stayed at trail head over night which worked fine. Quiet.
The next day I went to Mt Kineo and then finished drive to Baxter SP.
Lilly Bay campground is nearby and looked nice. They also don't open until 9AM and you could drive in and use showers before then.
I did see a moose on the side of the road driving toward Mt Kineo.
