237 Trails

Three inches of snow last night on top of a very thin base. Pretty good particularly since I have lowered my expectations considerably. The 237 trails were all good and the private land trails were very good. A long ski today since it probably will not last long. Today was untracked for the most part. We also skied out onto two of the ponds.

Sebago Lake State Park

We went to the East side briefly where the beach is and the trails that would be x country skiing if there was more snow. Then we spent some time on the West (campground) side. A number of trails here in the woods going to the lake and Songo River. The campground is near the lake but sites are close together and there are 250 of them! Near 0 temps this morning warming to low 20's. It felt cold even though the wind was light.

Mt Washington Valley Ski Touring

This was our second time to the Powerline Trailhead Whitaker Woods. About half of the trails accessible from this area were groomed and open. Thin cover but enough. Another 4 inches in top of this would be nice! On our way out we stopped at the Walmart on North South road. There is a parking lot behind the left back side of Walmart. Access to lots of ungroomed trails from here. Worth exploring with more snow. Lots of mountain biking there also for the summer.

Wolfe's Neck SP and Center

We went to Wolfe's Neck State Park and walked the trails along the ocean. Another cold day but not too windy and pleasant enough once you got going. Then to Wolfe's Neck Center where we had been about two years before. Goats, chickens, sheep, rabbits, and some trails. We noticed there is a large campground here. Tent sites and also cabins. Then to Pineland Farms for lunch. The sun came out about half way through the day which always helps the temperature.
