Today we rented bikes and set out on the Colorado Riverfront bike path. This is a great bike path! Lots to see and the path is wide and in great shape. We saw prairie dogs at one point. There was also a pond with a moving cable above it so you could wake board with no boat. Many views of the river throughout the trail.
Starting in Fruita we went to Loma and back. This is a nice stretch with one part going along the river. A mostly sunny desert area. You can probably go into some mountain bike trails from this trail in Loma. The trail in general is all cement and in very good shape. Next we traveled to Grand Junction. This section starts going along a road and then goes into a nice area along the river. There is a wildlife refuge and some parks. We went 26 miles today. The trail goes beyond Grand Junction to Palisade. If you went on the whole trail it would be about 50 miles.
