A second day in Crested Butte today. We started with the Oh Be Joyful trail. Some marginal driving to get to this trail but only 2 miles so we just went very slow. This is a great trail. Waterfalls, streams, and mountain views. Today we didn't have the weather on our side. It rained steady for about 1.5 hours. Some thunder and lightning. It was 40 degrees so it felt a lot like Vermont! We stayed with it and were glad we did. When it stopped raining the views opened up. It didn't turn to blue sky but it was pretty good. Snow on the higher peaks from last night.
After the hike we walked around the town of Crested Butte and ended up at the historical museum. This was interesting. Some old town pictures and mining photos but the good part, in my opinion, was the old ski equipment and the early mountain bikes. Lots to see here.
