Grandstaff Canyon Trail

This is a great hike off route 128 maybe 4 miles east of Moab. It is a canyon hike that follows a river with a large arch at the end. Lots of river crossings and great changing scenery starting at the parking lot. The arch is very long and is close to a cliff face. Different and interesting.

This is the picture on the sign at the parking lot:

Route 128

I took route 128 from Fruita. This road is like a National Park. It goes along the Colorado River. Many nice campgrounds, and a handful of very good hiking trails. The La Sal loop leaves from this road and should be explored.

Moab bike path:

Cisco UT

Should you go out of your way to visit Cisco UT? No. If you are driving by, like I was, it is worth 15 minutes of your time. It is mostly abandoned but it seems like maybe a half dozen people live there. I heard a dog barking and there are a few signs of life.

Horsethief Canyon State Wildlife Area

This is about a mile beyond the Pollock Bench trailhead at McInnis Canyons. A nice piece of land on the river. Probably a very nice place to walk in the Spring.
