Amazing powder day at Sugarbush
Great powder day at Sugarbush. All lifts of consequence were closed Monday due to high winds. It had snowed 1+ feet Sunday into Monday. Skied with John, Julie, Kris, and Paul and got there Tue AM. This day had little to no wind with all lifts operating and fresh tracks everywhere

Sterling Ridge and Bolton
Great snow at elevation continues. Some very light powder fell on top of what is a solid base. Saturday was Bolton going up Stowe View to Georges gorge to cliff hanger. Fun long downhill in great powder. Sunday was a trip to Sterling Ridge. Went up to the top of the ridge with views of Mansfield and other surrounding mountains. Then skied along the ridge up high for a while before skiing down. Long downhill with light powder. Great conditions. Sterling Ridge is more open that it used to be and I have never been on the ridge trail before. Good day!

It has been snowing in the mountains pretty much every day for the last week. Skiing wed was great at Smuggs so I took Thu off also. Looks like it will stay good for another week?

End of Jan
I had low expectations for this weekend but it turned into a great couple of days of skiing. Huntington didn't have as much snow as Underhill but enough and some very nice untouched powder.

Devils Dishpan
Nothing in the valley would make you think the skiing had improved. After looking at the Mad River report though I thought it may have promise. Turned out much better than I thought.
Stevensville rd: Over Devils Dishpan and followed red blaze trail toward Trapps. Took a right on Dewey and headed up onto the ridge. Looped from there back to Underhill trail and headed back. Also spent some time in the AM and the PM in the woods on the side of Dewey that goes down to the parking lot.
2 inches at the parking lot and about 6-8 up high. These are powder numbers. Some wet snow must have fallen that covered the crust or whatever there was on the base. This made for no ice skiing and it was very nice. Skiing powder on top of a good base. Looks like it is going to stay reasonably cold so skiing should be good for a while?
