Mid January

It has been the best start to a winter I can remember from a skiing perspective. It keeps snowing in the mountains. It has been cold though. A number of days where the high is hovering around 0.
The pictures below were taken Fri and Sat. I write this on Sunday and it has snowed another foot since Sat. And it is still snowing! Conditions were great before this storm.
Saturday had some interesting lighting toward the end of the day as the clouds were moving in.

Bolton:

Train passing me in the AM. Lots of snow kicked up behind it.

Stowe: snowing all day so hard to take pictures. Good year for a Stowe pass!

Clear and cold

After the storm week described in the previous post it was clear and cold. -5 in the AM getting up to 5-10 in the afternoon. Not much wind though and blue skies. Spent both days at Bolton since there was powder to be found all weekend. Everything was great including Paradise Pass off toward Cotton Brook and White Rabbit.  And every other trail I went on. Long day Sunday. Hard to leave. Spectacular days.
There were many areas where a fine dust of snow crystals was coming down from the trees and reflecting the light. The last picture tries to capture this but in this case you had to be there.
