Good start to February - Stowe, Bolton, Rikert

This week I skied Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat. Continued great conditions. It snowed about 10 inches during the week in the mountains. Stowe->Bolton->Bolton->Rikert. Nice powder in the woods at Stowe on wed. Bolton was all fresh tracks Thu and still lots of places to find on Fri.

Saturday Holly and I went to Rikert. Nice area with Craftsbury level grooming and they even have some snow making. We went up through the ski center and then onto the Catamount trail North. The ski center had a lot of cars but very few people in the AM and more in the afternoon. On the Catamount trail which was about 8 miles of our 12 mile day we were breaking trail. We saw one person on the way back. We went by the Robert Frost Cabin on our way out of the trail system.

Notes: There is a parking lot on the right after the Rikert nordic center. You drive down a road maybe a 1/4 mile and the parking is at the end of the road. Should get there early. From there it would be good to try the Catamount trail South toward Blueberry Hill.

Thought about another around Camels Hump ski. Maybe next week?
