Sebago State Park

We went to Sebago State Park today. There are two areas: East (Casco) and West (Naples). There was little snow today but the web site says they have 5.5 miles of groomed trails on the East side and 6.0 miles of ungroomed on the West for x country skiing. We will have to check that out!

We started on the East side. This area has a long sand beach on the North shore of Sebago Lake. The trails are wide and well maintained. We went on the Outer Loop trail which is the main trail that goes along the Sango river, Sebago lake beach, and a marsh area. Nice area and I can see how it would be great for groomed skiing if there was snow.

Then we went to the West side on Campground Road. The road is closed at the entrance but there is parking there and access to the trails. We went on Beaver Lodge, Violet, Kingfisher, and Sango Wilderness trails. These trails have some hills and also go near the Sango river. These trails are more narrow and rough than the East side but would be fine for skiing. Hope we get a chance to ski here sometime this winter.
