Horton, Saco Heath, Fuller Farm Preserves

A tour of some preserves near Saco and Scarborough. We went to Horton Woods first. Some well maintained trails. Buggy, which the other two preserves were not. Some swamp areas and Holly saw an otter at one of the rivers. Next was Saco Heath Preserve which was probably the best of the three. The Southern most peat bog in the US and possibly the world. Lots of pink flowers today. Long boardwalk going out into the bog with a loop trail at the end. A nice one. Then Fuller Farm which is a mix of fields, woods, and a stream. Again, nicely maintained trails. All worth returning to at some point and close to the house (20 miles).

Vermont Trip

Trip to Sue and Bruce's house. Warm summer weather close to 80.

We went to Bristol Water Works land near their house. Nice group of trails going by a pond and up to a view point.

Next day was Moose Mountain Pond in North Hudson NY. A trail in the Adirondack's that isn't over used. The trail goes in to a large pond and near some flowed lands that come out of it. Trail nice to walk on since it isn't eroded.

Then a tour by Eric of Nordic Farm. Interesting place with a long farm history and a short business adventure history.

Then Mt Willard in Crawford Notch on the way home. 3 mile RT hike with pretty nice views at the top. Good for a quick stop on a drive.
