Bald Pate, Peabody-Fitch Woods

We have been to Bald Pate Preserve a number of times. Today we also tried a new one: Peabody-Fitch Wood Preserve. These are both Look Echo Trust properties. Peabody-Fitch is only a mile. It is the site of a farm going back to 1797. Well maintained trails that go up a small hill to a few quaries. Nice to combine with Bald Pate which has some elevation gain and more trails.

Rattlesnake Mountain, Sebago SP

Rattlesnake mountain via the Bri-Mar trail. Short hike (2.5 RT) with enough uphill to get your heart working. Some tall grass for a short part at the beginning and then wide nice trail. You could see some closer lakes and also Sebago Lake.

Then off to Sebago SP. These trails are in fine condition. No tall grass and smooth pine needle base. We saw a river otter, a deer, and a lot of ducks. The river otter was swimming on its back at one point. There is a nice West facing finger of sand beach that we didn't see last time we were there.
