Pemaquid Point

Today was a tour of Pemaquid Point. Another busy day with lots to do in this area. Plumber Point Preserve went on both sides of a peninsula with ocean river on both sides. This was a longer 2.5 mile walk. Seal Cove had a jarasic park like low area with big ferns and lots of green. This also had access to ocean river views. We saw two couples of horse shoe crabs mating at one of the beaches. Fort William Henry is an area that goes back to the mid 1600's. French and British battles. Also a small town that survived on cod fishing. The cod were sent back to England in barrels after a salt and sun drying technique. Pemaquid Point lighthouse is a nice place to be on a sunny warm day. We went up to the top of the lighthouse, checked out the museum, and had lunch near the sea. This is a big wave open ocean type of experience. Lastly we went to La Verna Preserve. Another nice walk in the woods out to Ocean access. Rocky coast here with big waves rolling in. Another fine day. Today we visited:
