Today we went biking on Rimrock Drive that runs along the top of the canyons at the Colorado National Monument. A great place to bike ride! We parked at the visitors center so the car did the big hill. We then biked from the visitor out about 10 miles and then returned. We saw a number of big horn sheep in the first mile! We saw very few cars in the road. There is some up and down on this road and we had some pretty nice downhills which were of course uphills in the other direction. We branched off the main road just after the Liberty Cap trailhead. We didn't go far down this road before returning to the rim road. This needs further exploring. It goes to Glade Park and also Black Ridge which leeds to hiking trails and a different access to Rattlesnake Arches. Back at the visitor center we talked to a Ranger who gave us a geology lesson on the area and also told us about a lunar eclipse event the following night.
