Mid Nov VT

 We have some adjusting to do. A very nice day but cold. A high around 32 degrees. A little snow coming down in the morning. It is just a big change from summer last week to early winter!

Milton Town Forest. They did a lot of work while we were gone. Fixed up the trail from the parking lot to about half way to the stream. A sign says they are going to put in a lookout area near the swamp/pond. They replaced a well used muddy section of trail with a nice well drained trail. There is ice on the edges of the pond already!

Behind the house. I was at the beaver pond and a beaver popped up, slapped his tail, and then disappeared. About six feet from where I was standing.

Driving Home

 The plan is to drive to Zelionople PA, visit family for a day, and then drive to VT.

A few last Hilton Head pictures:

Hilton Head to Zelionople. We ran into a lot of traffic in West Virginia. We did stop for an hour at the New River Gorge National Park. We went to the New River Gorge Bridge. I think there are many other areas to explore but we went without any prior research. We went on an 8 mile drive that went down to the New River and went around both sides of the river. I think this area is mostly known for white water rafting. The traffic trouble came after this park visit.

Day 2 of driving went well. Nice day with little traffic. We took 90 and then went through the Adirondacks starting on 365 near Verona. A good route as long as the weather is good.

Back in VT. Leaves are mostly gone but found a few left.
