January update

Skiing has been great for the last two weeks. Plenty of base and some good storms in the mountains to make for fine mid-winter skiing. Some days were too cold for downhill but plenty of good back country skiing. At the end of this week (1/11) we got at least an inch of rain and a few days of 50 degree temperatures. This did a lot of damage and the reset button has been pressed. It is cold again now and there is some snow in the forecast so we shall see. I suspect it will be a while before we get back to good mid-winter conditions again.
1/10 was a day at Smugglers Notch. Great conditions, reasonable temperatures, and FIS in particular was skiing well.
