Garfield

After a week of winter the temperatures were up into the 60's on this day. Garfield is a nice 10 mile RT hike. The trail has a very steady pitch so other than the last .2 miles there really are no steep sections. The trail is also in great shape, maybe since it does not go straight up, so relatively few rocks. There was some ice and snow mostly melting for the last 2 miles. The top has great views of Lafayette, Lincoln, Flume, Liberty on one side. Good views of North Twin, South Twin, Galehead, Zealand on another side. Many other peaks between these two major ridges. Very early on in the hike warm winds started blowing onto the trail making it seem tropical at points.
