Middle Carter

Middle Carter and North Carter. This hike started up the Imp trail. After about 2 miles you get to Imp cliffs which has nice views of the Presidential Range. The Imp trail is a 6 mile loop. I went 3 miles on the North section of the Imp trail then up to Middle Carter and then back to North Carter. These two mountains are treed but there are a number of good view points on the way to them. Views to the Presidential range and views South and East. Another warm day with T-shirt weather up until the last few miles of ridge walking. A 10-11 mile day. More of a rocky rough trail than Garfield and more like most of the other trails in NH. Many small streams to look at on the Imp trail.

I stopped at Glen Ellis Falls on the way back. This is right off 16 and is a pretty amazing section of water falls. This is where I parked to hike Wildcat and I noticed this is where you need to park for Mt Isolation. Mt Isolation is still on the to-do list so I will be back again!

Mountains left in NH 48 4000 footers 2nd time around:

Bond, West Bond, Bondcliff, North Tripyramid, Cabot, Mariah, Owls Head, Waumbek, Isolation
