This is the tallest mountain in Georgia at ~4700 feet. We went up the Jack's Gap trail which is 7 miles RT and 2000 feet elevation gain. The trail has many switchbacks which makes for a very nice trail with little errosion and few rocks. Smooth sailing! You can also drive to within a half mile of the top and then take a bus to the top. The top has a large 360 degree observation deck and another building which has a visitor center. The visitor center has a variety of history exhibits, quilts, and stuffed animals. Nice sunny day but cooler than yesterday. Good hiking weather.
We had late lunch at a farm that a person at Vogel SP told us about. Low key farm to table. Great food! Collard greens, potatoes, and pork along with a very good salad.
