Nova Scotia - South shore

9-10 I decided to slow down at this point in the trip. I spent two days on the campground near the lake and two days at a campground right in Lunenberg. There are many nice towns and places to walk/hike near Lunenberg so I stayed in the area. On this day I went to Peggys cove. It looks like there are still real fishing boats there and lots of lobster traps around. Everything is perfect for pictures. Painted houses and bright colored boats. Light house at the end of the road and large area of granite on the ocean you can walk on. Big smooth rock and you can walk for miles.
Next was a hiking trail at Polly's cove. A mile into more big granite and ocean. Lots of large
rocks sitting on top of granite. Ice age? Another nice area.
Then went to Prospect at the end of a point. Another fishing village and similar rocky shore.
Tonight is second night at Little Pond campground. Nice with pool although by the time I get back
at the end of the day it is too cold for swimming.
Island slowly recovering. Most Nova Scotia parks camping closed although some starting to open.
Population of NS is about 1 million. 400,000 lost power. Today 100,000 still don't have power. Gas situation seems better although hard to say since the area I am in is fine. Power is out in pockets all over Nova Scotia. Good haddock fish and chips today.

This and next four pictures were in art museum. Local painter.

9-11 Went to graves island provincial park today. Nice 2 mile loop around outside of island. Light
 rain and cloudy.
Next was the town of Chester. Lots of high end houses on the water. Yacht club with one J24.
Kiwi cafe. Haddock and salt fish cakes. Salad and home made cookies. Great coffee.
2pm light rain moved out. Cloudy but rain appears to be done.
Then to Mahone bay. Bright colored houses. Boat building place mostly in the past although
they still have a few places building? Three very nice churches in a row as you come into town.
Got back to Lunenberg and walked from camp to downtown. 4 new boats since I was there a
few days ago. The bluenose and another large old sailing vessel from the US with raked
masts. Then a square rigger that was a reproduction of some sort. Must be an old boat convention.
Nice day wandering around a number of interesting areas.
Too many pictures again today. Scroll fast.
