Nova Scotia - Fundy NP and Pictou

9-1 Fundy nat park. Two waterfall hikes am. Carabou bog walk afternoon.
Everyone on trails speaking french. Montreal tourists again?
Trails: Third vault falls. Moose horn to Laverty falls. Caribou plain.
Afternoon: Bennett lake. Nice but small and not worth kayaking.
Wolf point: Shiphaven trail. Nice overlook of the beach.
Then went down to beach. Used to be a lot of timber going into bay.

High tide Alma

Same area at low tide the day before for comparison

Dinner with a view

9-2
Went to Hopewell Rocks in the AM (low tide) which is about an hour North of Fundy NP.
Then on to town of Pictou. Hector ship (replica) that Scottish settlers came to nova scotia in 1775.
3 month trip with one storm that set them back for 2 weeks. 180 people on small boat.
During storm they were all below.
Arisaig: 400 million year old cliffs at beach. They said do not touch rocks.
Then they said use safety glasses when using geological hammers! I saw one family
chipping away at the rock. Didn't see any fossils.

Hopewell Rocks - Low tide. At high tide water is up to the base of the trees.

Captain's quarters

Crew sleeps below Captain's quarters. In red hatch then down ladder into small area.
