Fairfield - dirt road ride

 Went for a dirt road ride on Sunday. It was going to be a hot day so we started at 9:00 with a plan of being done at 12:00. The roads are nice. Light traffic and shade a fair amount of the time. Only about 4-5 miles of pavement with significant traffic out of 35. A couple who we ran into along the way told us about a bridge that was out and gave us an alternate route. That saved us some time! See NOTE blow.

Unfortunately I went right near the end on Chester Arthur road. A mistake that took us back to 108. After some confusion we ended up riding an additional 14 miles for a total of 49 miles and 3700 feet of elevation gain. Tough in the heat!

This is a good one to do again with a little more attention to the directions! 

NOTE: East Bakersfield road has a bridge out right at the beginning. To work around this need to take a right on Sand Hill Road and then first left on Butternut Hollow road. Then right and first left to get on Witchcat road. This takes you back to E Bakersfield road.
