ADK Bike Trail (2)

Today we rode West from Lake Placid and went a few miles behind the point we turned around yesterday. Today was 29 miles and about the same elevation gain as yesterday at 1200. We ran into Donna and Alden, VT friends, who are at Paul Smiths for a weekend of biking. We rode with them about half the day. This stretch of trail is very nice also. We detoured slightly into downtown Seranac Lake to a farmers market. There were more road crossings today but still a lot of nice woods riding with many ponds including one area where you had water on both sides. Parking for the bike trail in Lake Placid was surprisingly easy. We parked at a lot that never filled during the day at the Eastern most end of the trail.

After the bike ride we went on a short hike up Cobble Lookout. Very little elevation gain during the 2.5 mile hike. Nice views of White Face and Ester which are two 4000 footers close by.

The Adirondacks are nice. We probably should have stayed longer.
