This is a 42 mile one way bike path from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. We went from Carbondale toward Aspen for a 47 mile RT. This is an amazing bike path. Well done paved path. We started following the Roaring Fork river out of Carbondale. The trail went through farm country with fields of goats and cattle. The mountain views got better as the trail went along. I say this but the view of Mt Sopris from Carbondale is impressive! We saw deer of course but also a herd of elk. One of the male elks looked at us in such a way that I was ready to take off on my bike. Maybe we start in Basalt next time so we can make it to Aspen. We drove home on 133 from Carbondale which is a nice mountain drive through the rockies. Amazing views. We passed through Delta to get home. The bike path goes through an area that is quintessential Colorado. Farms, cattle ranches, and mountains.
