Hilton Head - Dolphins, Alligator, Shark

We saw a number of the creatures that occupy the top of the food chain today. We say a small shark swimming at the Port Royal beach. We then went to Sea Pines which seems to own about 1/3 of the island. All of the land on the West side of the island. We went to Harbour Town and South Beach. This included a visit to the Salty Dog at South Beach and a visit to the light house museum in Harbour Town. We saw many dolphins while eating dinner on a picnic table just before sunset. Caroline noticed one and then we saw many surfacing for about 15 minutes. On the way to the Sea Pines area we say an alligator swimming along a river. Very smooth. Feet back and just moving forward with no apparent effort. At a few points the alligator would go under with again a very smooth non motion. Just let air out and sunk down into the water. A good day for wildlife! No pictures of the dolphins as you would need a much better camera than what I had (cell phone). Nice relaxing day with some low tide beach walking.

  2. Yes, it was wonderful having Caroline join us. She flew in from Seattle for a very reasonable price. South Harbor has many commercial establishments and bikes too! I wouldn't want to be here during the busy season that's for sure. Salty Dog is the happening spot here.
