Hilton Head - One more sunrise

One more walk on the beach at sunrise. Then a day of work and a short bike ride around the Hilton Head bike paths. Another 80 degree day and sunny. Since we start the long drive home tomorrow early I compared the weather in VT for next week to SC. VT is highs in the low 50's and lows in the low 40's and rain half of the days. SC is highs around 75 and lows around 55 with one day of rain all week. Why are we going home? I don't know. SC in the late Fall is pretty nice. The other factor is light. The sun sets in SC about 45 minutes later than VT this time of year.

A great trip overall. Near perfect weather with no rain for the two weeks. Now for the 20 hour drive to get home!

Short walk at lunch:

Aplidium Stellatum or Sea Pork is a colonial tunicate. Picture below. These strange things were on the beach. Tunicates are filter feeding organisms. We saw a number of them and different colors.

Holly at work. Never had time to read the sign that was on the wall next to her all week!

A few more beach pictures:

A few pictures out the car window driving home. These are in VT:

  1. We spent the night in Carlisle at Andrew's place. We had a great dinner at pub in his town and thoroughly enjoyed his company. Headed out before he was up in the morning and hope he visits us in VT. It was a wonderful trip and HHI is definitely a place to visit again. In part because I never hit up all the consignment shops which my sisters rave about. Caroline made a find though. An Edinburgh Woolen Mill blanket for $12.
