Grants is close to the El Malpais national monument. Land is part national monument, part Acoma Indian reservation, and some bureau of land management land.
I spent 2 hours there Tue after driving from OK city. Some sandstone bluffs, volcanic remnants, arches. Very nice and very few people. Didn't see anyone on trails. I will learn more tomorrow. Big area to see.
At one point I found myself jogging down a trail to get to an Arch and realized: I need to learn how to relax!
