A very nice day on Hilton Head Island! Temperatures about 75 and mix of sun and clouds. Today was a ride to Sea Pines. I started on the beach at Caligny at low tide and rode on the beach. This is always fun. The sand is good for riding as long as it is low tide and this beach is wide so it feels like you can ride anywhere. I then went up into Sea Pines and rode to Harbour Town. Nice marina and lighthouse and ocean access. You can see Daufuskie island and South Beach from here. We have seen dolphins in this area but not today. Then off to Stoney Baynard ruins which is the remains of a tabby constructed plantation house. Then to the Sea Pines forest preserve. This has lots of trails and a number of ponds and board walks. Very nice place to ride around. Saw a deer and a number of different birds. Lots of alligators out today. Finally bike paths back to home, for this week, on the SE part of the island.
