We got going early in this hike since it is a popular spot. The main canyon hike is mostly in the trees and cooler temperatures. Lots of views of the canyon walls during the entire hike. We did two additional trails which were pretty amazing. The first was the Subway Caves. A unique cave with two ledges inside it. You can get into it via a ledge walk or climbing up the middle. Both options make you pay attention. Also up here are some Native American walled caves. Very interesting area. We also saw Javalinas on the main canyon trail. The second off shoot trail went to a vortex site with a large spire. This was a great hike. The last 2 miles on our way out got pretty busy with people. This is a popular trail.
