McDonald Creek Trail

This is a nice trail in the Rabbit Valley area close to the Utah border. It is a 5 mile RT hike through a canyon and ends at the Colorado River. We didn't want to push the van on what is a pretty rough road so we had an 8 mile RT hike. We parked at a horse trailer parking lot 1.5 miles before the trailhead. Still some bright yellow trees and some surprisingly green grass in the Canyon. Another day starting just below freezing and then turning into 65 degree t shirt weather for most of the hike.

We stopped at Highline Lake in Loma on the way home. Looks like it would be a popular spot in the summer. The town of Loma is pretty small. Mostly a farm community from what we could tell during our 30 minute visit.
