It was off to Kodachrome State Park in the afternoon. Another strange place with red rock and green mountains with red stripes. There are also a number of sedimentary rock pipes that are formed when the softer rock around them erodes away. I went on the Panorama trail to the Cool Cave loop. About 5.5 miles all together through an ever changing strange landscape. The cave is big and open at the top. I have been to this park once before but it doesn't get old. On the Panorama trail there are some hand etchings in the rock. I saw these at Capital Reef also but didn't know what they were. Apparently they are Native American creations made by rubbing the sandstone. They think it is from the Fremont Culture. Very strange and interesting.
