Cobscook Shores

It rained hard all night with roughly 30 mph winds. By 10am it stopped and slowly got nicer as the day went on. 82 and sunny by the end of the day which is pretty warm particularly for this area.

Cobscook Shores are 15 parks around Cobscook bay and Lubec. I went to four of them today. These are well done parks with hiking trails and also screened in buildings you can hang out in which typically have water views. I saw two people at one park and no one at the others. A little different than Acadia! Here is a brief summary of where I went:

Red Point preserve: Wider trails with some sun and multiple view points of this part of the bay. It was low tide so I could walk over to an island that also has trails. Very nice! Maybe 4 miles rt.

Pike Lands Cove: A little woods and mostly beach walking to a nice cove. Maybe 2 miles rt.

Black Duck Cove: This was the best of the day. It was hot and sunny and these trails are mostly in the woods with plenty of shade. The hike ends at a screened in building on a hill and a path down to beach access. No one at this beach except birds. 5 miles rt.

Old Farm Point: A quick walk to a screened in building and views across the bay to the camp ground and Lubec. 1 mile rt.
