Kouchibouguac

This park is on the Eastern New Brunswick coast. It was hot today getting up close to 90. There was a breeze though and being on the ocean or in the woods was pretty reasonable. The day started with a walk across a marsh area on a board walk leading to a long sand barrier island. Very few people here but there are large parking lots and people say it will get busy this weekend. Tomorrow is the last day of school in this area. The campground also has almost no one there. Other walks included a white cedar forest, a loop with large pines, a bog area with a viewing tower, and some river and ocean walks. Very few bugs at the park and not a problem. The campground last night however had many mosquitos and made it very hard to be outside the van. Not sure why this campground had so many bugs compared to all the woods walking we did in the park.

There are many km, maybe 50, of bike trails in the park. We may try that tomorrow. You can also rent kayaks and go out on a river or the ocean.

Pine tree of some kind? Interesting color.

Sunset through the trees. Campground.
