PEI - Hike, Bike

The day started at the Greenwich (East) area of the National Park. We went on the Greenwich Dunes trail. This has a long boardwalk that then turns into a floating board walk that crosses a pond. After the pond are sand dunes and then a nice beach. Very few people around. I guess it is still early season.

The afternoon was biking on the Confederation Trail. This is a well maintained packed small gravel trail. The whole trail is 273 km. We did a section from St Peters to Morell and then about 5 miles past Morell. Most of this stretch is along St Peters bay so nice scenery. We went by potato fields and saw fishing boats out on the bay. We finally talked to someone about the lines of buoys in the bay. It is mussel and oyster farming. There are a lot of these areas in this bay and we have seen them in many other areas of PEI.

The evening was Holy Cow seafood. We were told about this place by a local riding the trail.
